MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. - New York authorities are considering animal cruelty charges against a man accused of making his dog run alongside his motorbike in Westchester County.
Mount Pleasant police didn't initially consider an animal cruelty charge against Henry Remy because the dog appeared to be OK.
However, Police Chief Louis Alagno says he reopened the investigation Thursday.
The 50-year-old Remy was arrested Monday on a misdemeanour charge of driving while intoxicated.
Police say he told them he was riding home to Queens, about 50 kilometres away, with the dog leashed to the handlebars, trying to keep up.
Remy is free on $750 bail.
