TORONTO - Action star Jean-Claude Van Damme's latest film "JCVD" will be screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, organizers announced Wednesday.
Van Damme plays himself in a story about the comeback of one of the biggest action stars in movie history.
The film is included in the festival's Midnight Madness lineup.
Other midnight screenings include "Not Quite Hollywood" starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Dennis Hopper, Stacy Keach and Quentin Tarantino; the Australian film "Acolytes," about the murder of a Canadian backpacker; and the France-Canada production "Martyrs," about a girl who goes missing for over a year.
The festival's Wavelengths section of avant-garde film and video will include works by American filmmaker Nathaniel Dorsky, French director Jean-Marie Straub, German art star Olaf Nicolai and the late British conceptual art pioneer John Latham.
The Sprockets Family Zone of children's cinema will feature the film "Krabat" from Germany; "Mia et le Migou," France-Italy; "The Secret of Moonacre," U.K.-Hungary-France; and "Sunshine Barry & the Disco Worms," Denmark-Germany.
The festival runs Sept. 4-13.
