AIRDRIE, Alta. - An Alberta man is confident he will prevail in his court dispute over a $17 million lottery ticket and collect his fifth lotto prize in the past five years.

Seguro Ndabene of Airdrie, just north of Calgary, has already won the lottery four times - including two wins of $1 million, another of $100,000 and a fourth prize of $50,000.

But his biggest win of all - $17 million in a Super 7 draw back in January - is being disputed after another individual claimed he was involved with Ndabene as part of a group buy.

The matter is before Alberta's Court of Queen's Bench, but Ndabene said there is no doubt the ticket is solely his and he will eventually get his money.

The man who raised the original complaint has told the Calgary Sun he made a mistake and is no longer claiming part of the winnings.

Ndabene, who immigrated to Canada from Mozambique in 1984, says there is no secret or "magic" in the way he wins.

He says the key is to play the lottery every week and he says he never buys a ticket from a lotto clerk who isn't friendly.
