LONDON, Ont. - Greentree Gas & Oil Ltd. (TSXV:GGO) and Echo Energy Canada Inc. (TSXV:EEI) say they have terminated merger talks announced in late September.In a joint statement late Wednesday, the junior companies said "the negotiations concerning possible joint operations and other possible transactions did not reveal the potential we had hoped to find."

Greentree explores for oil and natural gas in southwestern Ontario. Greentree has natural gas operations near Port Burwell on the north shore of Lake Erie.
