Vaillancourt sparks Canadian women to 4-2 win over Finland at Four Nations Cup

KERAVA, Finland - Sarah Vaillancourt of Sherbrooke, Que., scored a pair of goals for Canada in a 4-2 win over Finland on Wednesday at the Four Nations Cup women's hockey tournament.

Meghan Agosta of Ruthven, Ont., and Jayna Hefford of Kingston, Ont., also scored for the Canadians, who improved to 2-0 in their last international hockey tournament prior to the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver and Whistler, B.C.

Hefford's goal was her third in two games in the tournament.

Hayley Wickenheiser of Shaunavon, Sask., had two assists. Goaltender Shannon Szabados of Edmonton earned the win with 15 saves, while Finland's Noora Raty stopped 37 of 41 shots.

Canada, winner of the last two Olympic gold medals in women's hockey, has Thursday off before facing the U.S. on Friday in Vierumaki. The Americans have won back-to-back world championships.

The two countries with the best records after the preliminary round meet in Saturday's final.
