OTTAWA - Concordia rugby player Jackie Tittley and Guelph cross-country runner Allan Brett were named Canadian Interuniversity Sport female and male athletes of the week Wednesday.
Tittley, a second-year leisure sciences student from Kirkland, Que., scored eight of her team's 13 points in a 13-10 victory over Laval last week.
Brett, a third-year biological engineering student, captured the individual gold medal for the second straight year at the OUA championships. The Ottawa native also led the Gryphons to a fifth consecutive team title.
The CIS also named its football players of the week Wednesday.
Montreal running back Rotrand Sene took the offensive honour, Bishop's linebacker Justin Conn was top defensive player and Montreal kick returner Frank Bruno took the nod on special teams.
