As one Canadian soldier is laid to rest today, the body of another will arrive back home.

Hundreds of people are expected to pay their final respects today at the funeral of Capt. Richard 'Steve' Leary in Brantford, Ont. Leary, 32, was killed June 3 during a firefight with Taliban fighters. At CFB Trenton, Ont., the body of Capt. Jonathan Snyder is due to arrive via a military transport plane for a repatriation ceremony at 2 p.m. ET.

Snyder, of Penticton, B.C., died Saturday night after falling into a hidden well west of Kandahar in Zhari district.

Leary and Snyder are the 84th and 85th Canadian soldiers respectively to die in Afghanistan since 2002.
