Tip led to impaired driving charge: RNC

Fri May 9, 7:10 AM

ST..JOHNS (CBC) - A citizen's tip led the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Thursday night to pull over a St. John's-area motorist suspected of drunk driving.

The RNC said someone called the police after a woman left a nightclub in Conception Bay South, got in a car and then drove away.

The RNC said officers caught up with the driver a short time later.

She was arrested and will be charged in provincial court with impaired driving and failing a breathalyzer, police said.

The woman was later released from custody.
