WINNIPEG (CBC) - Two people were killed and two others seriously injured in a collision that may have involved a drunk driver near Portage la Prairie Thursday evening.
Two minivans collided on Edwin Road, near the Dakota Plains First Nation, just before 10 p.m. CT, RCMP said Friday.
The 60-year-old driver of one vehicle was taken to hospital in stable condition.
Of the four people in the second vehicle, a man and a woman, age 37 and 36, respectively, were killed. Both were from the Long Plain First Nation, also located near Portage.
The 43-year-old man driving the vehicle is in unstable condition at a Winnipeg hospital, as is a 12-year-old passenger in the van.
Police have not released the names of the victims.
Investigators said they believe alcohol played a role in the crash but did not release any further information.
