Stolen car crashes into home

Tue May 13, 9:34 AM

PRINCE.EDWARD.ISLAND (CBC) - A Charlottetown couple received a surprise wakeup call early Sunday morning when a stolen car crashed into their bedroom.

Police Const. Gary Clow told CBC News Monday the driver ran from the scene after crashing against the building on the corner of Parkview Drive and Belvedere Avenue.

"The front portion of that vehicle apparently went right through into the bedroom where a young couple was sleeping at the time," said Clow.

"When they awoke they saw the front bumper of the car in their bedroom."

The car is a 1999 Mazda taken from the Souris area. Police are still looking for the person who stole the vehicle.
