CALGARY (CBC) - Police in Quebec are looking for three suspects after a condominium on Montreal's South Shore was broken into and one of the occupants was shot with a stun gun.
Three people broke into the Brossard apartment early Thursday morning where they found two occupants sitting on a couch in the living room, said police.
An assailant stunned one of the men with a Taser before proceeding with the robbery, explained Longueuil police Const. Marc David.
"Once this person was partially paralyzed, the two men were forced to go into the bathroom. And while they were in the bathroom, the three men searched the condominium, and stole personal effects, including electronics and an Xbox," David said.
The man hit with the Taser was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not life threatening, police said.
Tasers are illegal in Canada and police aren't sure how one was obtained.
The weapons are standard issue within many Canadian police forces, and have generated controversy after highly publicized deaths following their use.
The Taser's impact on human health is under dispute within the medical profession.
