NOVA.SCOTIA (CBC) - A Halifax man with HIV has been found guilty for not telling his ex-girlfriend that he had the virus before they had unprotected sex.
Blaine Arthur Holland, 36, was found guilty of aggravated sexual assault Thursday.
Nova Scotia Supreme Court Justice Arthur Pickup said it was a matter of who to believe, according to a report in the Chronicle Herald.
Holland claimed he told the woman about his health when they started dating in 2005. However, the woman said she only found out a year later.
The woman, who cannot be named because of a publication ban, has tested negative for HIV, the Herald reported.
Holland is expected back in court in August for sentencing.
