RCMP had asked for the public's help in locating Jerome (Jerry) Rabnett, who had been missing since Wednesday morning in a rural area southwest of Teulon in the rural municipality of Rockwood, about 50 kilometres north of Winnipeg.

Rabnett was located about 2.5 kilometres from where he was last seen, in a bushy area, RCMP said Thursday. He is in "relatively good health under the circumstances" and is recovering in hospital, officials said.

The Civil Air Search And Rescue Association, the Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner and other search groups joined the RCMP in looking for Rabnett, who had gone out walking with three dogs.

The dogs were also located, officials said.
