WINNIPEG (CBC) - A Reston-area man was found dead earlier this week near the southwestern Manitoba town in what RCMP are calling a homicide.

Police were called Monday morning to the location of a body on a property in the rural municipality of Pipestone, near Reston.

RCMP have released few details about the case.

The victim's name has not been announced, but investigators said he is a 44-year-old local man.

An autopsy performed Tuesday in Brandon determined the case involved homicide, but RCMP have not stated the exact cause of death.
