SASKATCHEWAN (CBC) - Inmates of the Saskatchewan Penitentiary in Prince Albert have lost visitation privileges following the discovery of a confirmed case of the H1N1 virus.
In a news release issued Tuesday, the institution said that in addition to a confirmed case of swine flu, other cases of mild flu-like symptoms had been reported. It said various infection prevention and control measures would be undertaken to slow the flu's spread.
The prison, which has medium- and maximum-security sections, is now operating on what officials call a modified routine. It houses 494 medium-security inmates and 158 maximum-security inmates, all men.
