Wed Nov 4, 6:58 PM

SASKATCHEWAN (CBC) - A potentially dangerous incident was averted at a Saskatoon shopping centre Wednesday when police responded to a call about two people, with weapons, engaged in some sort of altercation.

Saskatoon police said they rushed to the Confederation Shopping Centre at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday. They set up a perimeter and arrested two people not long after "without incident."

It turns out the two people were arguing over money and they had guns.

Police said they laid weapons charges against both. The pair will be in front of a judge Thursday morning.

No other details were released.

Police said the scene was cleared by 8 p.m.

The location of the incident was a west entrance to the centre, which is home to a number of large retail stores.
