Thu Nov 5, 12:43 PM

PRINCE.EDWARD.ISLAND (CBC) - Lobster landings on P.E.I. hit a record high this year but the lowest prices in 20 years spoiled the season.

Total landings reached 22.9 million pounds, Fisheries Minister Neil LeClair announced Thursday, up 4.7 per cent from 2008. The previous high was 22.7 million pounds back in 1991.

While LeClair is pleased with the landings, he said the prices this year were disappointing.

The landed value was $75 million, a drop of 25 per cent from last year.
