WINNIPEG (CBC) - Two 16-year-old students from the Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive Secondary School in Selkirk are facing drug charges after being arrested Friday morning at the school.
RCMP said they spent a week investigating after school officials and area residents expressed concerns about illicit trafficking.
Police did not report if the young people were male or female. They said one was from Selkirk and the other from East Selkirk, across the Red River. The two communities are about 35 kilometres north of Winnipeg.
Both youths are facing possession and trafficking charges. After they were charged, the two were released. They have court dates set for Selkirk Court on Jan. 8, 2010.
RCMP said they seized approximately $200 in cash and about 20 grams of marijuana with an approximate street value of $200.
