VANCOUVER (CBC) - RCMP in Langley, B.C., are hunting a man they believe attacked a 91-year-old woman in a break-in early Tuesday morning.

The woman, who lives alone, was thrown on the floor and then dragged down a hallway, Const. Patrick Davies said Wednesday.

She suffered bumps and bruises but was not hospitalized, he said.

"She was awoken by a noise and it turned out there was a suspect breaking through her bathroom window," Davies said.

The man made off with about $100 cash.

Liz Tolkamp said the elderly woman came to her door for help after the home invasion.

"[My husband and I] came to the front window ... my neighbour's standing right there in her nightgown with her jacket, barely got her shoes on," Tolkamp said Wednesday.

"[She was] obviously railing and saying she'd been broken into."

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Mark Daniel Paupst, 44, who has been charged with breaking and entering and robbery.

Police said the victim knew the attacker, who had lived next door with his wife for four years.

Tolkamp said Paupst had a garage sale last week and seemed to have broken up with his wife.

He's 5 feet 9 inches tall, about 175 pounds, with short brown hair, blue eyes and a thin face.

Police consider Paupst dangerous, Davies said.
