Pets safe after house fire

Sat Nov 7, 12:42 AM

Two house pets are safe thanks to a quick-thinking neighbour who scooped them out of a house fire today.

Fire crews responded to a home at 135 Street and 159 Avenue at 1:39 p.m., said fire investigators.

Fireplace embers set outside the home caught fire, burning at least the outside of the building.

The neighbour ran in and rescued two pets of unknown species.

No one was injured in the blaze, which caused $75,000 in damage.
