MONTREAL (Reuters) - Plane and train maker Bombardier Inc said on Friday it hired Guy Hachey from bankrupt auto-parts supplier Delphi Corp as president of its aerospace unit.
Hachey, who also becomes chief operating officer at Bombardier Aerospace, the world's third-largest civil aircraft maker, will take up his posts on May 12.
He replaces Pierre Beaudoin, who will take over as president and chief executive of the parent company on June 4. Beaudoin is the son of current Bombardier Inc CEO Laurent Beaudoin.
The Bombardier and Beaudoin families have a controlling stake in the big Canadian manufacturer.
Hachey, whose career began 30 years ago at General Motors , had been head of both Delphi's $5.5 billion powertrain business and its European operations.
Other key changes to Bombardier Aerospace's leadership team were announced on Friday and take immediate effect.
Those included bringing together two business units -- regional aircraft and new commercial aircraft -- under president Gary Scott.
That move integrates the teams working on Bombardier's regional aircraft programs and the $3.2 billion development of its 110- to 130-seat CSeries jet, which would take it into airliner markets dominated by Boeing and Airbus.
Steve Ridolfi moves from president of Bombardier Regional Aircraft to president of Bombardier Business Aircraft, replacing Pierre Cote, who leaves on July 18 to become chief executive at SFK Pulp .
