SEATTLE (Reuters) - L.A. Galaxy's David Beckham will take pain-killing injections for a bruised ankle bone before Sunday's MLS Cup final but will be fit for the game against Real Salt Lake.
England midfielder Beckham told a news conference after training on Friday he had not been able to train this week due to the injury to his right ankle but would play, albeit after injections.
"I'm sure I'll be fine for Sunday, I will definitely be fine for Sunday," Beckham said after training on the artificial surface.
Beckham's team mate Landon Donovan said the midfielder had been playing through pain or illness through the past six weeks.
