Santorum says Obama apology for Qur’an burning shows 'weakness'

WASHINGTON - Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum says President Barack Obama's apology for the burning of Qurans in Afghanistan was a mistake that demonstrates the president's "weakness."

Santorum says that rather than saying he was sorry, Obama should have only acknowledged it was wrong.

The former senator from Pennsylvania says to apologize for something that was not an intentional act "is something the president of the United States should not have done."

Obama has come under fierce criticism from Republicans for apologizing for the burning of Qurans at a military base in Afghanistan. Military officials say the incident was a mistake. It has sparked days of violent riots in Afghanistan.

Santorum was interviewed Sunday on ABC's "This Week" and NBC's "Meet the Press."

Interesting how religious extremists are so much worse than the evil they profess to be fighting.

What kind of people have we become? Didn't your parents teach you to say sorry, even if it was a mistake, even if it was wrong?. Obama said "WE" are sorry, it should not (destroying anything religous) have happened simple as that, why make an issue out of it.

It's called election time. The republicans are finding it hard to believe their "hopefuls" are still deadlocked with a president (Obama) who slowly but surely led America into another recession. The Republicans, if they hope to command ANY respect, need to wake up.

Because Satan is ruling the world. These are the days when evil rules. Good will never win....not until we're called home. Surely people must believe now that they have unearthed proof that Christianity is real? But of course the majority of people aren't destined for salvation. So focus not on them but on your own souls lest you find yourself with your chin on the floor some day.

And please....dont start on ME with Christianity or religion or this nonsense Islamic religion and the foolish extremists who believe such retarded nonsense that common sense and intuition alone tells you is wrong. You Americans can't even separate religion from your politics lest common sense might prevail.

So Sanitorium thinks it best to further inflame emotions in a country where American lives are already in danger? Brilliant! This is the depth of understanding that the republican party wants to send out into the world? God help us all.

People don't realize in hurting others we hurt ourselves....if people read the story of Daniel and the gold statue they'd realize that not one empire will ever remain standing.....no kingdom has EVER survived...nor will it ever. These are truly the days of Iron and Clay. It couldn't be more clearly mapped out.

So if a Muslim living in America came up to you and apologized for all the bible burnings in Saudi etc...Would you consider it a sign of weakness?
      • True Canadian Patriot 2 months ago
Not true at all because Muslims respects and believe in Bible being as the book from God and also they look at Jesus as their beloved prophet. You are probably an atheist or a Zionist for saying such a thing. On the other hand, we Christians have lost our respect in this world, we have no respect for others' cultures and religions. SHAME!

Finally one agreement with Republicans: (Obama in my view should not apologize because the sane Muslims ((is that an oxymoron))know it was a mistake and the insane ones won't accept an apology anway. But, alas, the Republicans go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like we should not retreat from Afghanistan until will win. God, am I the only person who remembers the Vietnam war or more recently the Soviet Union v. Afhghanistan..

I wonder what Mr. Santorum's reaction would have been if it wereChristian Bibles being burnt. I think it would have been PRESS THE BUTTON,PRESS THE BUTTON!!!!!!
This guy is the prime example of why people are turning away from organized religions in the West lets see no abortions even if a rape victim, women rights gone, other religions are nothing but songs of the devil,One God (Santorum's) One vision (Santorum's) This man is scary and what is scarier is that there are a chunk of people who believe him.
    • Gem  •  2 months ago
I can't help but think that if the situation were entirely reversed that Santorum and his ilk would demand no less than a fervent apology and an I'm sorry. But double standards are nothing new when it comes to religious fanaticism.

I get it guys. You hate Jesus. Its easy to think that way. You are lazy and self absorbed.
But act like you have it all together. I know this is true because you know squat about Muhammed. You know less about Jesus. Muhammed was a tyrant. Jesus was nothing of the ilk. That should count for something.
