A skier has been killed in an avalanche near Kaslo, in southeastern B.C.
The slide occurred about 11:30 a.m. MT, hitting a group of nine skiers, RCMP Staff Sgt. Dan Siebel said in a release.
Siebel said one of the skiers — a man — was buried and dug out by the others, but could not be revived.
No other injuries were reported, Siebel said.
The deceased has been airlifted to hospital in Nelson, about 40 kilometres south of Kaslo. His name will not be made public until family members are notified.
RCMP and the BC Coroners Service are investigating.
