    Winnipeg's spring-like weather breaks record

Although the official start to winter is just a few weeks away, temperatures in southern Manitoba were rather spring-like in the past two days, even breaking a 104-year-old weather record in Winnipeg.

The daytime temperature in the Manitoba capital hit 9.7 C on Thursday afternoon, shattering the previous Nov. 24 heat record of 7.2 C that was set in 1907.

The warm air started drifting through the province on Wednesday and set six new records.

The hot spot in the province was Emerson at 12.7 C, though it was not a new record.

Winnipeg came less than a single degree of breaking a 134-year-old record on Wednesday, reaching a high of 7.2 C. The record, set in 1877, is 7.8 C.

But CBC Manitoba meteorologist John Sauder warns that the unseasonably mild weather won't last long. Cooler temperatures are expected to return Friday, followed by some snow over the weekend.

However, it will still be warmer than normal. The extended forecast through to Monday calls for daytime highs between 0 C and –2 C.

The normal daytime high is –4 C.

OMG you didn't!!! Lions will destroy the bombers!!!!! I realise that the bombers and jets is all you have but please, the sooner you accept the fact, the easier it will be on you.

@ Jody: OMG He did! Bombers will get a victory and have already beat BC twice this year. Lulay will struggle against the Bomber D. I realise the Lions and Canucks are all you have in addition to 350 days of cloud and rain (seeing that the Grizzlies left town, poor fans in Vancouver) but please, the sooner you get accept the fact the easier it will be on you. And please, no rioting, try to be well behaved, it's only a game.

That's well know, even most Vancouverites agree...and by the way the term "No Fun City" originated in the Vancouver Sun.

Late next year the sunspot cycle should peak resulting in global cooling after. When a large number of planets corragate on one side of the sun it pulls the epicenter off center causing multiple disterbances on the suns surface which has been hyped as global warming as of late. The resulting geomagnetic stroms will not only increase the number of heart attacks, it should also crash the financial markets in late 2012 as the number of electrons increase in the ionospher. JP Morgan was right millionairs dont use astrology billionairs do. The masses are to egotistical to think astro physics applies to them. They even think they can cause global warming. Yet the earth was cooler in the past when greenhouse gassses were 9-10 times higher.
