Officer hurt by moving vehicle as suspects flee, Regina police say

Police in Regina say a 10-year-old girl received an unwanted spank on the bum from an adult man Thursday afternoon as she was walking along the street.

According to police, the child was walking on 4th Avenue, beside Grassick Playground around 4:20 p.m. CST when it happened.

A man was walking from the opposite direction and as they passed, she felt some contact on her buttocks, described by other children who were present as a spank on the bum. Police said the man ran away and there was no verbal exchange or further contact.

"This event is of sufficient concern that police want to make the public aware of this event and ask for any information that could help in the investigation," police said in a news release about the incident.

The youngster told her parents and grandparent about what happened and police were notified.

Police said a search of the area failed to locate anyone matching the description of the suspect.

The suspect is described as Aboriginal, about 30-years-old, with an average build, black hair and a black moustache. He was wearing grey sweat pants and a black T-shirt.

Police patrolled the area for a time, but the suspect was not located.
