The death of a 49-year-old woman, whose body was found in a downtown hotel, is being investigated by Winnipeg police service's major crimes unit.
Officers were called to the Quest Inn on Ellice Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. Monday after the body was located inside a suite.
The death is not considered suspicious, police said, but would not provide further information.
It was the second time police were called to the Quest Inn on the same day. Yellow tape was put up in the afternoon, blocking a lane beside the hotel.
Investigators were still at that scene on Tuesday but police did not explain what was going on.
A witness told CBC News that a woman was lying outside the hotel and an ambulance was called.
Emily Hobson saw passing by when she saw a woman on the ground next to the hotel.
"I was like walking right over there and I just seen that girl like laying there. I didn't see what she looked like [because] she was surrounded by paramedics," Hobson said.
No further information is available at this time.
