Susan Sullivan backs John Ottenheimer to be PC leader

Innovation, Business and Rural Development Minister Susan Sullivan says former cabinet minister John Ottenheimer is the right person to lead the PC party.

"We've had some conversations that led me to believe that he's a very thorough person in terms of his ability to analyze what's happening," said Sullivan. "He takes his time to listen to all points of view and I think he comes away with some very thorough decision-making processes."

Sullivan said she considered running to be the leader, but decided against it.

Former cabinet minister, Shawn Skinner is also supporting Ottenheimer, who represented the St. John's East district from 1996 to 2007.

Ottenheimer served as the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, the Minister of Health and Community Services and as the Minister of Education.

The other candidates in the race are former cabinet ministers Paul Davis and Steve Kent.

The Tory leadership convention will be on September 12 and 13 at the Delta Convention Centre in St. John's.
