A Glasgow cabbie has been banned from driving taxis after he allegedly asked women to release their bladders on hi back seats in return for a free ride.

The unnamed 55-year-old man had his licence revoked by the City Council after receiving a complaint from Police Scotland.

Two female passengers made separate complaints to the police after they claimed they were asked to urinate in the cab and refused.

Both women explained to the Police these incidents occurred late at night and in early hours of the morning.

His case was handed to the procurator fiscal under sections three and four of the 2009 Sexual Offenses Act, reports the Glasgow Evening Times.

Currently awaiting trial, he is prevented from driving taxis and private hire cars as part of his bail conditions.

During the licencing hearing, the cabbie claimed he would be pleading not guilty to the charges and requested his ban only continue for another four weeks.

The suspect claimed he had been working night shifts so he could help out his pregnant wife and had an unblemished 20-year career driving taxis.

A trial date has yet to be set.
