Truck on fire partially closes Highway 40 East in Kirkland

A truck that caught on fire near St-Charles Boulevard in Kirkland at 4:15 a.m. has forced the partial closure of Highway 40 East.

The highway has been reduced to one eastbound lane at St-Charles.

Emergency crews are at the scene, but Quebec provincial police say it appears the fire is under control.

Police say there was no collision and no one was harmed.

The truck was transporting wood, according to police.

The highway is partially closed while crews clean up the debris from the fire.
