Turcot Interchange contract awarded to Kiewit and Parsons

Quebec's transportation ministry has awarded the contract for the new Turcot Interchange to KPH Turcot, a consortium led by two U.S.-based construction firms, Kiewit and Parsons.

Kiewit's home office is listed in Omaha, Neb., while Parsons is headquartered in Pasadena, Calif.

The cost is estimated at $3.7 billion, the same amount estimated when the former PartiQuébécois started the bidding.

Transport Minister Robert Poëti said work is expected to begin in February 2015 and be completed by 2020.

The exact timeline will be announced when the contract is signed.

Kiewit is known for the construction of Autoroute 25 between Laval and Montreal.
