U2 mourns 'irreplaceable' tour manager, Dennis Sheehan, found dead in Los Angeles

U2's tour manager, Dennis Sheehan, was found dead in his Los Angeles hotel room on Wednesday after suffering a heart attack, officials confirm.

The band's frontman Bono posted a statement Wednesday on U2's website about Sheehan's death.

"We've lost a family member, we're still taking it in," Bono wrote. "He wasn't just a legend in the music business, he was a legend in our band. He is irreplaceable."

Sheehan, who was reportedly in is 60s, had worked with the Irish supergroup for more than 30 years.

Los Angeles County Fire Inspector Chris Reade said that first responders were called to the Sunset Marquis Hotel in West Hollywood around 5:30 a.m. local time for a reported cardiac arrest. Sheehan was pronounced dead at the scene. Coroner's investigators are at the hotel.

The band, consisting of members Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr., had just played the first of a 5-date run in the Los Angeles area as part of its worldwide Innocence and Experience tour on Tuesday night.
