Vancouver man hospitalized after alleged targeted home invasion

Vancouver police say an alleged home invasion that left a 22-year-old man injured in East Vancouver early Thursday morning appears to have been targeted.

The incident happened just after midnight in the 2100 block of Wall Street.

Vancouver police confirmed there were three people inside the ground floor apartment at the time of the attack.

The victim's girlfriend, who declined to give her name, said four men wearing Halloween masks came in through the patio door.

She said one of the men was wearing a devil mask.

The woman said the men shot her boyfriend in the torso with what appeared to be a BB gun.

Paramedics with B.C. Ambulance took the man to hospital with wounds that aren't believed to be life-threatening.

The woman didn't say whether the alleged attackers took anything from the apartment.

Vancouver Police carried out a thorough search of the area around Nanaimo Street and McGill Street, but didn't immediately turn up any suspects.
