I think Fleury has to move on with his life...
    • SoSayI 3 months ago
he obviously has moved on, counselling other victims of a monster. He has come out again to have the odious James punished for his crimes against children. He has made it his life to warn others of the ways people in authority intimdate and manipulate the most vulnerable of humanity for their sexual gratification. Fleury deserves a medal!

SoSayl...Theo was part owner of the Calgary Hitmen Jr Team when James was hired to coach them! Did Theo approve it? Did Theo expose other teenage boys to the same fate? If he did what does that make Theo? A victim or a party to a nasty deed? You tell me. Where was Theo when Sheldon Kennedy exposed james? Answer... he hid behind the law! Theo finally came out so to speak when he launched his book! Excuse me for being skeptical. I believe many 14 year old would have told their parents immediately about what James was up to. Theo is no saint.

I salute you Theo Fleury for your strength and courage. What you were subjected to no one has a right to judge except the courts who hopefully will keep this monster behind bars for the rest of his life. Bless you for speaking out.

The more people there are in the world, the more child molesters there will be.
If he weren't up to his ears in self-pity, had considerably more intelligence, and a
moral compass that read anything other than due south, he'd park his crucifix
and begin to think about things that really matter on a tortured planet. In passing,
could try to teach this yokel how to speak, and pronounce his favorite word "heinous"?

It's a victim impact statement in the case...I think it's important.

the more brave victims like this come out and denounce abusers, the more abusers will go to jail where they belong. thank-you, mr. fleury.

There are no words to describe how much courage it took for this man to begin public dialogue on the loss of his innocence and his development as a young man. We are finally beginning to make transparency of this issue the forefront.. without complete transparency this abuse will continue .. it's about time we see the damage that it causes.. the neurological and sexual identity damage .. the pain and the activities of drug abuse that surround the individuals who spend years running away from their pain.. their shame .. The loss of full educational development because their brains do not absorb information as readily as non abused children.. the damage done is complex and it makes me disgusted that people in our society who spend absolutely no time researching or understanding the affects to the human mind have opinions with no merit or weight of any factual relevance. Mindless commentaries on sexual abuse to which they have spent zero time deepening their knowledge base. Eventually we will get to a point in Psychoneuroimmunology where science will recognize the damage early.. because molecular damage is a real consequence of abuse and like I always say.. molecules don't lie.. people do..
It fills me with reverence, and strength to know that Mr. Fleury's journey to regain and secure his complete being and to take that power to open that journey through the private hell and pain in others makes me so proud .. how great it is to see the eyes of an authentically wonderful man in action.... in this world I take in much cynicism and then once in awhile we see greatness of good. thank you for sharing this victim statement

You realize people will get bored afer the first sentence and not read further, don't you.

Thanks for your critique .. however abuse is not about being entertained or ordering fast food at Mc Donalds and you're not interviewing me for a job interview to amuse your head.. .. and my comments are just that ,, mine.. . read what entertains you k.. so the bored in you doesn't get more bored. k..

Wow, I am surprised by the amount of negativity on these comments. Self pity? You are a real piece of garbage if you think this is self pity. Can't a victim who has become a victor over it put out a message to the public in support of victims? It sounds like he is sick of seeing sexual offenders walking the street so soon after a conviction. Imagine your child being raped for years by some creep and then come back here and try using your "self pity" comment you whackjobs.

It is unbelieveable how low the Conservatives will stoop to push through their agenda. The OAS bankruptcy threat has been debunked by most economists including Page who was hired by the Conservatives. Now they want to play the guilt and blame game by suggesting that the older generation is screwing the younger generation. Divide and conquer strategies have now been refined by Flaherty and Finnley to include parents against their children. Even the Tea Party in the US would find this disgusting.

What are you replying to you twit. Typical liberal bull.
  • Dmac  •  3 months ago
Seems to me there are a number of comments on here by folks who sound like child abusers themselves. To call what Theo is doing "self-pity" tells me you are at the very least uneducated and at the most "heinous" abusers yourself. Good work and more power to you Theo!!! So glad that you have had the courage to fight back.

Fleury is a champ with a massive heart. I don't agree 1 in 3 girls are abused and 1 in 5 boys???

I think this little guy should quit using his being molested as an excuse for him to being accepted as a hockey player, and being accepted to society. Get a grip on life, consider yourself lucky. Get a life. Are you going to bring out a book? I just cant take any more of your, self pity. Now let society look after you.

Abuela I think you need to sit down and read some medical research on the biological damage as well as the emotional and sexual damage done to the individual who is abused.. if you cannot relate to this on any emotional level as a human being then you are seriously a flawed personality. "get a grip on life".. where were you raised .. and what raised you.. ? self pity .. you are the epitome of an uneducated bully ... without any background knowledge whatsoever in what and how sexual abuse alters the brain and the development of the person abused.. YOU WRITE ABUSE.. YOU ARE SCARY firstly to yourself and secondly to everyone else.. never.. please ever try to help anyone with your insidious attitudes because you firstly need to get some help yourself . .. your mind is emotionless, vacuous and scary..

Boo hoo.The blame game goes on.I don't buy the scenario of a junior hockey player in typical shape 'forced' to do this by a weaker adult 140 times .The consent factor has to be in play here and coming to terms with it is the issue.Blame others and if you can make money doing it,why not?
