What's open, what's closed for the Civic Holiday

It's another summer long weekend, and another set of closures to be aware of when planning your Civic Holiday festivities.

The Civic Holiday, also called Simcoe Day in Toronto, isn't a statutory holiday under the provincial Retail Business Holidays Act, so businesses are free to open as usual or take the day off. Here's what's open and closed throughout the city.

Open:

- 378 LCBO stores, most following regular business hours

- Royal Ontario Museum

- Toronto Zoo

- Ripley's Aquarium of Canada

- Ontario Science Centre

- Major malls

- City-run outdoor pools, splash pad and wading pools.

- All five city-run golf courses will be open and offering holiday rates.

- Riverdale Farm

- High Park Zoo

Closed:

- All Toronto Public Library branches

- Art Gallery of Ontario

- Banks

- Government offices

Canada Post does not pick up or deliver mail on national, provincial or territorial holidays. However, post offices operated as private businesses will be open.
