Man in 20s dead, 2 women seriously injured in head-on collision in Etobicoke

A man in his twenties is dead and two women are in serious condition following a head-on collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of The West Mall and The Queensway.

Const. Alyson Douglas-Cook told CBC News police were called to the scene just after 6 p.m. Saturday, where one person was trapped in a vehicle. That person has since been extricated, paramedics say.

It's not yet known whether it is the trapped person who was pronounced dead.

The West Mall remains closed in both directions from Dundas to The Queensway while police investigate. A collision reconstruction team is also on scene and further closures are possible.
