Grand-Barachois woman dies in 3-vehicle collision in Beaubassin East

A 60-year-old Grand-Barachois woman died Saturday after a three-vehicle collision in Beaubassin East, about 30 kilometres northeast of Moncton.

The woman was the sole occupant of a car that collided with a pickup truck around 6 a.m. She died at the scene.

Another car also collided with the pickup truck.

Four people in the second car and pickup truck sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 27-year-old Grande-Digue man, was arrested at the scene in connection with the crash, but was later released.

He will return to court on May 26.

The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
