Berens River man, 29, killed in hit-and-hit run crash

One person was killed and two others were injured in a collision on the Trans-Labrador Highway in the Crooks Lake area Friday morning.

The RCMP in Happy Valley-Goose Bay received a call about a vehicle collision shortly after 8 a.m.

Police said the collision involved a road grader and a pickup truck, about 160 kilometres from Goose Bay on Highway 510.

Helicopters were dispatched to the scene to evacuate the injured persons, and the Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP also attended.

The identities of the people involved in the collision are not being released at this time, pending notification of next of kin, police said.

Police remain at the accident scene, and the incident is still under investigation.
