1 person is dead after pickup truck, car collide at intersection, SC highway patrol says
One person is dead following a collision at a Lexington County intersection, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
A 2020 Dodge pickup truck was driving west on South Carolina Highway 302 just before 1 p.m. Friday, about 3.6 miles south of Pelion, Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway said. A 2010 Toyota coupe was driving south on Bub Shumpert Road.
The Dodge hit the Toyota on the driver’s side as it was crossing Highway 302.
The driver of the Toyota, the car’s sole occupant, died on the scene. The victim has not been publicly identified by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office.
No other injuries were reported.
The highway patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
