Search teams have recovered the body of a 32-year-old Wabush man missing after a boat capsized on Canning Lake in western Labrador.

The man and two others were on the water Thursday evening when it tipped.

Someone called the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary for help just after 6:00 p.m. AT.

RNC Const. James Cadigan said officers safely found two of the three boaters on Thursday night.

Police, fire, and other emergency services continued to scour the area for the missing man through Friday morning, and Cadigan said search teams found the man's body around noon.

Cadigan said it's not clear yet what happened.

"It's an ongoing investigation into how things played out there. It's certainly very early," he said.

Cadigan said the chief medical examiner's office will work to determine how the man died.
