1 person shot, killed at Zebulon convenience store

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible road-rage incident involving shots fired at a car carrying a woman and her children.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after one person was shot and killed at a convenience store in Zebulon.

The incident happened Sunday evening at the Shop-N-Go convenience store at 13597 NC-39.

Deputies said the shooter was identified and is being questioned.

Authorities said there is no threat to the public.

No other details have been released.

In 2016, a 29-year-old clerk at Shop-N-Go 39 was killed and a second employee was also shot during an armed robbery.

Police arrested two men in connection with the shooting in the months after it took place.
