1 person suffers 'extensive burns' in Sandy Cove house fire

1 year after fatal crash, RCMP charge C.B.S. snowmobile driver

A house fire in Sandy Cove on Newfoundland's Northern Peninsula sent one person to hospital with "extensive" burns Thursday night, police say.

Flowers Cove RCMP and the Straits Fire Department responded around 9:30 p.m.

Three people were inside the home at the time of the fire.

The house was "extensively damaged," according to police.

One man suffered "extensive burns to his body" and was later transferred to St. Anthony via ambulance. 

As of early Friday afternoon, police remain on the scene while a fire investigator has been called in to assist with the investigation.
