10 school shooting and robbery suspects remain in custody

Thistletown high school was under lockdown Thursday following a robbery and shooting. Ten male suspects are currently in custody.

Ten adults and youths accused of a string of violent robberies, including a shooting at a Toronto high school, remain in custody today after their first court appearance.

Police believe the suspects, all men, were responsible for a number of robberies dating as far back as January.

They appeared in court Saturday morning but were taken back into custody. They are scheduled to appear before a judge again on Monday morning for their bail hearings.

Police say the armed robbery and shooting at Thistletown Collegiate Institute Thursday was the work of this same group.

Two students were robbed of their cellphones and another student was shot at when he tried to flee.

The suspects then fled in a stolen car and were then stopped by police.

Six of the accused are adults and four are minors.
