12-year-old missing girl from Kansas City found safe

Update: The Kansas City Police Department said Friday night Martinez was found and was safe.

A 12-year-old girl is missing from Kansas City’s Northeast neighborhood, and police are asking for help finding her, a police spokesman said.

Alma Martinez was reported missing after she was last seen about 11:30 p.m. Thursday near her home near Monroe and Garner avenues in the Scarritt Point neighborhood, said Capt. Jake Becchina with the Kansas City Police Department.

Alma is described as being 5-foot-2-inches tall, weighing about 100 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes and pierced ears. It is unknown what clothing she was wearing at the time of her disappearance.
