UK coronavirus death toll rises by 18
A further 18 people have died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 in the UK.
It brings the country's death toll from the disease to 41,347, based on new reporting methods brought in on Wednesday.
Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have been 56,800 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
The Government said: “We have not received the latest data for cases and tests in England. We will update today’s records as soon as they become available.”
Wednesday’s figures showed a total of 313,798 people had tested positive for Covid-19, a rise of 1,009 on the previous day.
Earlier it was reported that a further 13 people have died after testing positive for coronavirus in UK hospitals.
All the deaths were recorded in English hospitals , with Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland reporting no deaths again on Thursday.
They were aged between 49 and 90. One, aged 86, had no known underlying health conditions, NHS England said.
Another four deaths were reported with no positive Covid-19 test result. It brings the total number of coronavirus deaths in UK hospitals to 34,076 since the start of the outbreak.
Of those, 29,444 were recorded in English hospitals.
Public Health Wales reported 15 more coronavirus cases on Thursday, while Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said a further 47 people had tested positive in the country.
Twenty-six of these new cases are in the Grampian Health board area, 10 are in Greater Glasgow and Clyde and three in Orkney.
It comes as new data suggests the UK is not at the beginning of a second coronavirus wave, but is still ending the first.
There were 1,434 daily new cases in the UK on average over the two weeks up to August 8, excluding care homes, according to the latest Covid Symptom Study app figures.
The latest figures are based on the data from 10,988 swab tests taken between July 26 and August 8.
