14-year-old girl arrested after she’s accused of threatening a middle school in Prosser

A 14-year-old girl is accused of making an online bomb threat to Prosser’s middle school.

The teen’s vague threats involving Housel Middle School were reported to police on Sunday, according to Prosser police news release on Wednesday.

Investigators didn’t believe the threats were credible, but police informed school officials. Police also conducted emphasis patrols around the school on Monday and Tuesday.

Then Wednesday morning, police believed they had enough evidence to link the Housel Middle School student to the threats and she was arrested.

She was later booked into the Benton Franklin Juvenile Detention Center in Kennewick on suspicion of making bomb threats.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Officer Thomas Forsyth at tforsyth@ci.prosser.wa.us or by phone at 509-786-1500.
