15th Annual Eyed Egg Brook Trout event a resounding success

ASSIGINACK— December 8, 2023: Manitoulin Streams Improvement Association hosted its 15th annual Eyed Egg Brook Trout Event. The event saw the most volunteers it has ever seen, with Assiginack Elementary’s Grade 5 class taking part and many family groups, including multiple generations. Approximately fifty volunteers filled one tray for a total of 10,000 Brook Trout eggs and took them out to Norton’s Creek to be released. The event typically takes approximately two hours to complete and was completed in under an hour. MSIA wishes to thank everyone who came out and made the event a tremendous success.

To date, MSIA and volunteers have released 120,000 eggs into the Creek.
