A motorcyclist was killed after colliding into a pickup truck at a North Carolina intersection, police said.
David Scott Hill Jr. ,18, slammed into the side of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck at about 12:20 a.m. Nov. 19, according to a High Point Police Department news release.
Responders arrived to the scene, where they found the injured motorcyclist, police said.
Hill was driving his motorcycle at “a high rate of speed” when he didn’t stop at a red light and rammed into the driver’s side of the pickup truck, according to an incident report obtained by McClatchy News. The truck’s driver, a 27-year-old man, was driving north during a “steady green signal,” the report said.
Hill was sent to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem for medical treatment, but he died of his injuries when he arrived, police said.
The truck driver was not injured during the crash, according to police. An investigation is ongoing.
High Point is about 20 miles southwest of Greensboro.
