Thousands still without power as high winds pummel New Brunswick

Last night's thunder and lightning storm knocked out power for thousands of NB Power customers.

As of 10 a.m. Saturday, about 1,000 customers still were without power.

A large cluster of the outages are in southeast New Brunswick, alongside the border with Nova Scotia.

Customers in the Sackville and Port Elgin area were hardest hit with 924 customers without power.

More outages are scattered across the province due to the strong winds, rain and thunder and lightning that hit the province last night.
