Initially, we found the Echo Dot to be lacking in sound quality. This best-selling third generation model, however, got some pretty sweet upgrades over its predecessors, including an improved speaker. While it's still lower audio quality than you'll receive from a pricier model, like the Echo ($99.99, pre-order for Thursday, October 22), one reviewer noted that the Dot offered the best sound quality they've experienced on a smaller speaker of this size.
